BEGINNERS: This class is for anyone who is interested in trying Zumba, but would like to begin at a slower pace. Although we'll be raising our heart rates and exercising in every class, we'll also take time to slowly practice steps. Zumba is a choreography-driven fitness format. Learning the basic steps used in all Zumba classes will allow you to feel more confident and better able to pick up new choreography in any class. Rather than worrying about your footwork, you'll be able to focus on the fitness elements of the workout and on having fun!
EXPERIENCED STUDENTS: This class is also great for experienced Zumba dancers who would like to gain more in-depth training in the various dance styles incorporated into many Zumba classes. Even the most experienced Zumba enthusiasiats sometimes lack confidence in their dance ability. This is often because the accelerated pace of most Zumba classes limits the ability to focus on individual movements. Intro to Zumba provides experienced students with an opportunity to slow down the pace, break down steps and practice technique.

ALL STUDENTS: One of the most exciting aspects of a Zumba class is that you're actually dancing! So yes...the Salsa front/back and Merengue six counts you'll be learning in class can also be tried out on the dance floor! That being said, the main focus of any Zumba class is to keep students moving and sweating off the calories. The beauty of Zumba is that you don't have to do the steps "correctly" in order to get a great workout. There is, however, always a benefit to improving your dance skills, gaining confidence and optimizing your fitness routine.
This class is open to teens and adults of all ages and fitness levels. Look forward to seeing you in class!
